This is a song that I helped write with the disturbingly talented Paul Garner back in 1997. It is called "Floppy Gifts For Christmas" as was recorded and released by the Bedford local radio station B97 (now called Chiltern Radio 96.9FM or something!). The aim was to raise money for the regional Anglia TV Kids Toy Appeal, which we did...lots of money. The single was released on cassette (remember those!) and sold through WHSmith stores across the region. We would have charted too, if we'd bothered to get it listed!

Much of the credit goes to Paul Garner who wrote the majority of the lyrics, and all the music. He sings the lead vocal, plays the guitar, piano and drums (blimey!). I recorded the backing vocals and bass. The B97 breakfast crew, Neil Bentley and Tim Page, plus all the staff of the station and friends from Yamaha and other local nutters all joined in ob the chorus vocals.

Many thanks must go to the studio chaps at The Bunkers in Bedford, who donated all the recording and mastering time.

Sorry for the poor quality, but it is off an 11 year old cassette, so its not THAT bad!

Enjoy the festive tune and maybe we can get it released as a single next year, eh?

Neil G :-)

P.S. Exciting Brightonomicon-sequel news coming in the early new year...and don't miss the launch of NECROPHENIA, Robert Rankin's 30th novel, on January 9th in sunny Brentford.

Happy Xmas!!!
